Position Responsibilities

�Directs all engineering activities within I&C discipline for which he/she is responsible for in accordance with the highest professional and technical standards and ensures that sound engineering concepts are developed and incorporated into all projects

�Review of P&ID�s, process system descriptions, control communication network diagrams, and process elementary diagrams as related to instrumentation and control issues.

�Review the technical accuracy and adequacy of, and approves DCS, CEMS, SWAS, control valve, vibration monitoring, and instrumentation material purchase specifications

�Interface and provide I&C input to mechanical discipline on design of P&ID�s, BOP system descriptions, mechanical equipment specifications and bid evaluations.

�Interface and provide I&C input to electrical discipline on design of one and three line diagrams, electrical load list, UPS load list, electrical equipment specifications and bid evaluations.

�Provide scope of work, personnel, labor-hour budgets and schedules for new I&C engineering work

�Design, develop, coordinate and/or review control logic diagrams, loop diagrams, control system logic descriptions, and control loop descriptions

�Knowledge of control diagram PID controllers, selection of controller action (direct/indirect), tuning parameters, sequential step logic design, macro development, etc.

�Knowledge of I&C Engineering Standards and Procedures (NFPA, ASME, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, NEMA, NEC, etc.) and their application to projects.

�Provide technical support to construction group and startup group during execution phase of the project. Extended stay on-site I&C startup support may be required.

�Holds periodic staff meetings with members of his staff to discuss and review problems and developments related to projects.

�Effective Cost saving generation for design (Design to Cost)

�Reviews the competence and performance of all members of his staff and advises and guides members of his staff relative to their technical and professional development.

�Establishes his department overhead budget, including specific amounts for all departmental duties and activities listed herein.

�Cooperates with the Proposals Manager by providing scope of work descriptions, man-hour estimates, and other information within his discipline for proposals.

Qualifications

�Comprehensive knowledge of power plant I&C systems design of DCS and comparable systems for fossil, gas and coal power plants

�Execution of Combined Cycle Power Plant & Supercritical Coal Power Plant

�Over twenty years (20) of proven experience in the power plant engineering field

�Familiar with the use of Smart Plant, Autocad, MS Word, Excel
