Corporation is seeking a Consulting Engineer IV Pipe Specifications to be based in our Houston, TX location.

Position Description:

� Advanced level of specialized engineering knowledge within a specific discipline and has a basic understanding of other disciplines.

� Fully versed in business development concepts and methods and leads the project proposal process.

� Strong understanding of discipline tools and of company cornerstone applications.

� Fully versed with the process of preparing and checking of calculations as well as the approval, revision, retention and storage of calculations within a specific discipline.

� Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, chemical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and/or schedule factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline.

� Basic understanding of factors from outside engineer's discipline that impact specific problems.

� Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.

� Reviews and advises on purchase orders and subcontracts.

� Assists with and monitors the development of manpower, man-hour and labor cost requirements for a project to aid in evaluating the budget.

� Leads estimating tasks and performs material take off's for specific discipline.

� Advanced level of knowledge of discipline material costs, equipment and materials lists.

� Understands cost analysis and forecasting.

� Fully understands and assists with the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks within a specific discipline.

� Fully versed in the project change control process and identifies potential changes.

� Fully versed with and can check and review the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a specific discipline.

� Maximizes the integration of all project functional requirements into a complete project plan.

� Assists in developing and mentoring junior staff. Assists in the development of training programs within area of expertise.

� Maintains positive working relationships with peer leaders.

� Builds productive relationships with organizations within and external to Engineering

Primary Requirements

� Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four year accredited college or university.

� PE License is required

� 19+ years of experience in Piping Specifications and Pipe Stress Analysis

� Pipelines, Oil/Gas and Petrochemical experiences are must

� Must have advanced level of knowledge in selecting, reviewing and creating of pipe materials, fittings, components and valves.

� Must have the knowledge in designing of Inline piping specialty items.

� Must understand the industrial codes and with the knowledge to create specifications for the painting, coating and insulation.

� Familiar with ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 codes

� Fully understand the requirements of preparing all piping MRs and Pos, and conduct technical tab analysis.

� Must have advanced level of knowledge in pipe stress analysis

� Proficient in CAESAR II stress analysis program, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), PSV thrust load calculations, water hammer analysis, dynamic analysis and design of the pipe supports.

� Must be able to use PDS or SmartPlant 3-D model review to view the piping layouts.

� Must have general working knowledge of equipment design for Rotating, Static, Heat Transfer and Materials and the appropriate associated codes and standards
